The Karnataka School Education Department has standardized Saturday school timings for all government, aided and private schools across the state. From now on, all schools will function from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Saturdays, putting an end to the different timings followed in many districts.Until now, Saturday times varied from one school to another. While some schools held classes from 8 am to noon, others operated from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. According to local media, the department has now ordered every school to follow the same four-hour schedule. The department said the change will make school times more predictable for students and parents. With all schools starting and ending classes at the same time on Saturdays, families no longer have to keep track of different schedules. The common timing is also expected to help teachers comply with the state’s mandatory online attendance system. Since all schools start classes at the same time, teachers will be able to mark their attendance uniformly across the state.
