The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has extended the application deadline for admission to its online postgraduate programs for the September 2026 academic session. Interested candidates can now submit their applications through the official admission portal.As per the revised schedule, candidates applying through the IIT Kanpur Online Entrance Test can submit their applications till July 1, 2026. Those who are exempted from the entrance test can apply till July 10, 2026.

The programs are designed for both new graduates and working professionals who want to improve their skills or build a career in technology and management.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants applying for online MTech programs must have a relevant bachelor’s degree with at least 55 percent.Admission will be offered through:

- A valid score on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED), Common Admission Test (CAT), Common Admission Test for Masters (JAM), Graduate Registration Examination (GRE), or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
Candidates with valid scores in these national level exams can be exempted from IIT Kanpur online entrance test and can apply till 10th July 2026.
Application fee
Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 5,000 while submitting the application form. Payment must be made online.
