India A got off to a perfect start as Anshul Kamboj and Yash Thakur reduced Sri Lanka A to 38/2.
Kamboj batsman Niroshan Dickwella made 10 while Thakur bowled Pawantha Weerasinghe for 11 to put the pressure on the home team.
Sri Lanka A equalized through Nuvanidu Fernando and Ashen Bandara to prevent India A from making any further breakthrough.
Fernando remained unbeaten on 65 off 103 balls, hitting seven boundaries, while Bandara was not out on 18 balls at stumps.
The duo put on an unbeaten 75 for the third wicket to extend Sri Lanka A’s record to 113/2 at the end of the match.
India A enters the second day after ending the first day at 333/4 with Sai Sudharsan scoring 132 runs. Jurel’s century helped the visitors extend their dominance before claiming 452/6.
Leading by 339 runs, India A remained in firm control of the match heading into the third day as Sri Lanka A remained eight wickets behind in the first innings.
