Nissan India has confirmed that the Tekton SUV will make its global debut on July 9, 2026, and has released a teaser that reveals details of the new design. The expert also describes the upcoming Tekton as a ‘Baby Patrol’, based on its rugged design that blends in with the SUV model. The Tekton is expected to carry a number of styling cues from the Patrol, including the grille, headlamps and other exterior features. The upcoming model shares its platform with the new Renault Duster and will be manufactured at Renault’s facility in Tamil Nadu.

Smartly, the upcoming SUV will have a front grille with a red horizontal line running through it and a bright Nissan logo in the middle. The SUV also features signature LED DRLs paired with the head units, which include L-shaped headlamps. Other exterior highlights include a sculpted bonnet with distinctive lines, a central scoop and a Tekton badge. At the rear, the SUV will feature a roof-mounted spoiler, front spoiler, integrated C-shaped headlights and a large bumper. In terms of dimensions, the SUV is expected to be similar to the new Renault Duster, which is 4,345 mm long, 1,815 mm wide, 1,703 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,657 mm.The Tekton is expected to share engine options with the new Duster. 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with 100 PS power and 160 nm torque combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Another engine is a 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine with 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque, combined with a 6-speed DCT or 6-speed manual. There is also a large 1.8-liter hybrid gasoline engine with 109 hp combined with a 49hp electric motor and a 20hp hybrid starter generator (HSG), combined with a 1.4kWh (280V) battery. Together, this configuration delivers a combined output of 160hp and 172Nm.Expected features are 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, 6-way powered and ventilated seats, 48-colored digital instrument cluster with multi-colorless ambient modes, start keys and more keys.The new Nissan Tekton will be a flagship product for Nissan India. It is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will compete with brands like Renault Duster, Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrider and others.
