Karnataka State Police (KSP) has started the application process for the recruitment of 1,600 Police Constable (CAR/DAR) posts across the state. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) portal from today, 22nd June 2026.As per the official notification, a total of 1,421 vacancies have been announced under the General Karnataka division, while 179 vacancies are available under the Kalyana Karnataka division.Candidates can submit their application forms through the official website before the last date, 22 July 2026.
Karnataka Police Recruitment 2026 : Overview of vacancies
A total of 1,600 Armed Police Constable vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive.
- Karnataka General Division: 1,421 seats
- Kalyana Karnataka Division: 179 seats
Eligibility criteria
Candidates who have passed the Pre-University Course (PUC), Class 12, or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution are eligible to apply.Candidates must possess the mark sheet of the examination on or before the last date of submission of application. Candidates awaiting their Class 12 or equivalent results are not eligible to apply.Apart from educational qualifications, candidates must have studied Kannada as a first or second language at the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) level or should have passed the Kannada language examination conducted by KEA.
Age limit
The minimum age requirement is 18 years while the maximum age is 33 years as on 22 July 2026.The state government has also announced a one-time relaxation of five years in the upper age limit for eligible candidates.Ex-servicemen will get an additional relaxation of three years beyond the length of their military service.
Reservation for ex-servicemen
As per government rules, 10 percent of the vacancies are reserved for ex-servicemen under direct recruitment.The benefit is also available to eligible dependent family members of ex-servicemen who died while in service or became permanently disabled during service.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to the general category will have to pay an application fee of Rs 500. All other eligible candidates will be required to pay Rs 250.While the application form must be submitted by July 22, applicants can pay the fee up to July 24, 2026.

Date of examination and salary
The written exam will be conducted by KEA on September 6, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.Selected candidates for Army Police Constable posts will get monthly salary ranging from Rs 37,500 to Rs 76,100 as per government rules.Candidates are advised to complete the registration process well before the deadline and check all the details carefully before submitting the application form.
