In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter , the actor opened up about his job Katie Diebold‘s episodes and what’s in store for the show’s next season. Specifically, when talking about his character’s future, Southwick added: “I’m really excited, not just for the shenanigans he’s up to, but the level he’s capable of.”Beyond that, he shared, “For me personally, as an actor, it’s a great way to ease myself into it. I think in season two, Evan has more opportunities to get into really crazy, fun situations.” He shared his excitement for the show’s comedic supernatural storytelling and what the future holds for fans.

The actor also praised the show’s concept, noting that comedy is a difficult genre to approach these days. He added, “What Widow’s Cove does so well is it takes those horror tropes and makes them [them] its own. This is a very original idea. “He also said that making the show was “a lot of fun” and that he was really happy to see so many people getting involved and watching it wholeheartedly. “I remember the first time I read it, I just loved this,” he also quipped about his first reaction when he was offered the role and the script.

The story follows Widow’s Cove, a fictional town that new mayor Tom Loftis has been trying to turn into the next big “Martha’s Vineyard.” However, when he ignores the warnings of the residents and proceeds to act, paranormal activity begins to run rampant due to an ancient curse that plagues the town.The Season 1 finale revealed a key detail about the show’s protagonist, played by Matthew Rhys. Tom Loftis, who is revealed to be connected to the town’s founder, the mysterious Richard Warren, who is also responsible for the curse placed on the town. Season 2 is said to explore more of this storyline and how the mayor will deal with everything, including his past, without letting it tear his family and town in half.
