New Delhi: As TimesofIndia.com first reported last week, the former Rishabh Pant to return to Delhi Capitals for indian premier league (intense pulsed light) 2027 season. The IPL confirmed the move on Tuesday, with Pant agreeing to a salary of Rs 15 crore, which is Rs 12 crore lower than the record salary of Rs 27 crore he earned when he was drafted by the Lucknow Supergiants ahead of the 2025 season.“Former Lucknow Super Giants captain Ritha Pant “Kuldeep Yadav will return to Delhi Capitals (DC) while Kuldeep Yadav will join Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in one of the latest significant player transactions in the history of IPL,” IPL said in a release. Pant returns to the team where he played for nine seasons between 2016 and 2024. During this period, he played 111 games for Delhi Capitals, the most by any player in the team. He also led the team in 43 games over four seasons from 2021 to 2024.In the IPL 2025 auction, Pant was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 27 crore, which was the highest bid in the history of IPL. After the latest deal, he returned to Delhi Capitals for Rs 15 crore.As part of the exchange, Kuldeep Yadav joined Lucknow Supergiants after spending five seasons with Delhi Capitals. Since joining DC in 2022, the left-arm wrist spinner has taken 72 wickets in 65 games and has become one of the key bowlers of the team.An IPL press release stated that Kuldeep will move to Lucknow with his existing salary of Rs 13.5 crore.Pant captained Delhi Capitals for four seasons before being released ahead of the 2025 auction. He later took charge of Lucknow Supergiants but resigned as captain after the 2026 season.Lucknow endured a difficult 2026 IPL season, finishing at the bottom with four wins from 14 games.
