Michael Gledhill, the main defendant in James Handy’s murder case, has been ruled unfit to stand trial, People reports. Gledhill has been in custody since the June 3 incident and is being held on $2 million bail.A hearing was held on Monday; however, he was not present, according to a report shared by his public defender. He was “apparently denied transportation,” documents state. The trial continued in his absence, and a judge later ruled that Michael was unfit for trial and approved drug treatment for him in prison. A statement read: “He is currently incompetent to stand trial. Psychotropic medications have been approved and can be injected as the psychiatrist deems appropriate.”On June 3, the Los Angeles Police Department found the actor on Tarzana’s front lawn “unconscious and stabbed in the chest” after receiving a 911 call. Authorities received the call from Gledhill, who allegedly said, “I am the Son of Man and I just killed the sinner.”Michael’s mother and Handy’s girlfriend, Wendy Gledhill, later revealed that her son had been diagnosed with schizophrenia for years and had been taking medication regularly to regulate his condition. However, Handy had stopped taking his medication weeks before his murder. In another report in the California Post, she said “I’m just trying to take it one day at a time, one minute at a time.”

In a separate interview with the Daily Mail, Wendy recounted the final moments of the actor’s life. She shared, “James got up around nine o’clock to get the newspaper, but he didn’t make coffee like he usually does.
