Unlike their previous collaborations, Timothy and Selena will lend their voices to the new animated film from the studio behind global hits like Despicable Me and Super Mario Bros.

Chalamet will voice Joe, an “introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet life alone,” while Selena Gomez will voice Fran, a “talented astrobotanist who is developing the world’s first plant-fueled rocket,” according to an official announcement from Variety.

“When Joe and Fran get together to prepare for the first launch of this revolutionary rocket, sparks fly immediately, but neither is particularly good at romance. Life becomes more complicated when three aliens – petite, unruly, and adorable – take refuge in Joe’s home. Dunk, Willy and Sherm are on the run between the stars, hiding from an enthusiastic but incompetent lawman named Zandro. The aliens believe that Fran’s rocket can provide them with a way back to safety,” reads the official film synopsis.

Dunk, Willy and Hilm will be voiced by Rob Brydon, Diane Morgan and Jamie Demetriou. “Ted Russo” star Brett Goldstein will play Officer Zandro. Other supporting cast members include Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris.Not Alone will be co-directed by Illumination mainstay and Despicable Me 2 co-director Eric Guillon, Claire Dodgson and Jonathan Del.The movie is expected to be released on April 16, 2027.
