Municipal court again issues non-bailable warrant (NBW) to actor Prakash Raj Cases involving alleged multiple voter registrations. The actor reportedly failed to appear in court despite an earlier summons and arrest warrant. This is the third time a non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued in connection with the matter, according to court records. The case is currently pending in Bengaluru and the next hearing is scheduled for July 25.
Latest court hearing leads to new arrest warrant
The latest NBW was issued on June 12 after a petition was filed by Bengaluru-based advocate K. Dilip Kumar. According to Live Law, the court noted that Prakash Raj did not appear in court despite multiple opportunities to appear in court. According to reports, a summons was earlier issued to the actor and later an arrest warrant was issued when he failed to attend the proceedings. Since there was no record of appearing in court, the court decided to reissue the non-bailable arrest warrant and proceed with the case. Now, the issue will be raised again at a hearing on July 25.
The case involves alleged multiple voter registrations
The case revolves around allegations that Prakash Raj’s name appears in the electoral rolls of several states. Apart from being registered as a voter in the Shanti Nagar assembly constituency in Bengaluru, his name also allegedly appears in the election records of Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Seringampally in Telangana, the complaint said. Subsequently, legal action was taken against the party under certain sections of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
Court proceedings continue ahead of July hearing
The court accepted the case and issued a subpoena to the actor, records show. When these summonses failed to be served, the court issued the first non-bailable arrest warrant on March 17, 2026. The warrant was subsequently reissued in April and June after Prakash Raj failed to appear in court. The case remains under judicial review as the latest order comes into effect. Further proceedings are expected when the case is heard again on July 25.Disclaimer: The information in this report is based on legal hearings reported by third-party sources.
