NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to close the online challenge window for the NEET UG provisional answer key tonight, June 28, 2026, at 11:50 PM.Candidates who have appeared for medical entrance re-examination have to submit their objections with a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per application before the deadline.Key Key and High StakesThe re-examination was rushed by the central agency to address earlier evaluation discrepancies, involving more than 20 lakh registered candidates across the country.The answer key challenge window was opened on June 25, 2026, giving aspirants a narrow window of 72 hours to check their respective test booklets.
Fee Refunds and Verification RulesThe NTA has confirmed that if an objection is found valid by its panel of subject matter experts, the processing fee of Rs 200 will be refunded to the registered bank account of the applicant.To facilitate refunds, a dedicated portal has been made available on the official NTA website, where applicants can verify or update their bank account details until June 30, 2026.To submit a valid challenge, applicants must upload authentic supporting documents, preferably from NCERT textbooks or other recognized academic publications.What happens next?After the challenge window closes, the NTA will complete the evaluation of the objections submitted and finalize the scanning and verification of the individual Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets.A revised Final Answer Key will then be published. This final answer key will be binding and will serve as the sole basis for calculating scores, preparing merit classes, and determining institutional cut-offs before the declaration of NEET UG 2026 results next month.
