The Corporate Mitra scheme opens up opportunities for graduates with training in compliance and business support roles

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has announced that the Corporate Mitra scheme, introduced in the Union Budget 2026-27, will create a pool of trained and certified professionals to support MSMEs in business management and regulatory compliance. The initiative will facilitate ease of doing business and contribute to Viksit Bharat.The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has formed a steering committee after the budget announcement to lay the foundations for the implementation of the scheme. Regular departmental reviews ensured coordination between professional institutes, including ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI, as well as IIT Madras. The ministry guided the finalization of the scheme guidelines, brochures and Mitra Corporate logo.Mitra Corporate course details and eligibilityThe scheme is open to Indian nationals up to 30 years of age who are graduates or students in their final year of graduation. The course includes approximately 150 hours of online academic learning through expert-led sessions, followed by six months of on-the-job training with professional firms.Certification as a Corporate Partner will be provided upon completion of the academic modules and practical training. Candidates will be exposed to accounting, taxation, banking, financial management, legal and secretarial practices, and cost and management accounting.MoU signed for course rolloutA Memorandum of Understanding was signed on June 25, 2026 between IIT Madras, IIT Pravartak, Swayam Plus, ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI for the operation of the Corporate Mitra scheme. The Mitra Corporate logo was also released on the same day.Academic support for Corporate Mitra course will be provided by ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI. The academic module will be provided through the Swayam Plus portal for the national launch. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs also supports the hosting of course content designed on the platform.Fee structure and registration updateThe fee for the Corporate Mitra course is Rs 3000 plus GST. A concession of 50% in fees will be available for women applicants and applicants from North Eastern States, Himalayan Regions, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.The Ministry of Corporate Affairs said that the announcement for the opening of registration for the Corporate Mitra course will be made soon. The registration process will be available through the websites of MCA, Swayam Plus, ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI.The scheme aims to provide structured academic and practical training through professional institutes and educational platforms. Eligible candidates who complete the required modules and training will receive certification as a Corporate Mitra after meeting the prescribed criteria.
