Brown recently opened up about her experience growing up in the spotlight on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, and continues to receive attention. The “Enola Holmes” star candidly revealed that she never experienced many of the milestones people go through as children, which affected her greatly.Talking about this, she mentioned that she had a hard time connecting with people. She also shared, “Sometimes I don’t know how to react to my peers.” She revealed in the interview that most of her conversations on set were about work, and that she was constantly surrounded by men in their 40s and other crew members, which affected the way she interacted with others.“So I heard a lot of adult talk growing up; I didn’t really talk about the things you should talk about as a kid. Because you hear ‘Where’s the grip? Let’s grab a ladder,’ you know? That’s all your talk,” she added. She also revealed that much of her conversation experience came from talking about work-related topics, and she struggled to make connections and talk about normal things like restaurants or bars.

The Girls actress also spoke fondly of her boyfriend, Jake Bongiovi, and how he’s one of the reasons her social skills are slowly improving. She called him a “social butterfly,” adding that he was her “complete opposite.” She added, “You know, he went to boarding school and college, so he was like a social butterfly. When I met him, I really tried to get more involved. So, I was in my social age.“
