The famous actress and singer died Wednesday, KABC’s George Pennachio confirmed. He shared a tribute post to the veteran star on his Facebook account, sharing her influence in the industry. He wrote: “She was 16 when she was nominated for an Oscar! Actress Ann Blyth died peacefully on Wednesday at the age of 98, less than two months before her 99th birthday.“He further detailed her career in the post, sharing how she became one of the youngest successful stars at the time and even branched out into various media, including radio and Broadway. He added, “Ann was actively involved in philanthropy and volunteered for many causes. Her family said she enjoyed her garden, knitting and painting. She was known for giving her work as gifts to friends and family.” He also noted that Blythe often responded to fan mail and that she enjoyed interacting with people.
