The eight third-place teams with the best results among the 12 groups will also advance to complete the knockout round of 32 teams. This means that 24 teams will advance directly through the top two teams in the group, and the other 8 teams will gain seats through third place. The remaining four third-place teams and the bottom 12 teams will be eliminated.
