U University of Delhi (DU) has released its academic calendar for the 2026-27 session, giving students and colleges a clear schedule for the upcoming academic year. The schedule covers the commencement of classes, semester breaks, practical exams, theory exams and holidays for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes.According to the academic calendar, the classes for the odd semesters-Semester I, III, V and VII, will start on July 28, 2026.The university has scheduled Fall Break from October 18 to October 25, 2026. Regular classes will resume on October 26 after the one-week break. The break falls in the middle of the semester, before the students move into the exam phase.
Practical exams and preparation start from November 20
As the semester approaches its conclusion, preparation leave, class dispersion and practical exams will begin on November 20, 2026.This period will allow students to prepare for their end-of-semester exams while departments conduct practical assessments where necessary.
Theory exams start on December 4th
The end-of-semester theory exams for odd-numbered semesters will begin on December 4, 2026. The university said the detailed schedule of the exam will be notified separately.After the end of the examination cycle, students will receive the Winter Break from December 25 to December 31, 2026.He has a weird semester schedule
The academic calendar also describes the schedule for even semesters-Semester II, IV, VI and VIII. Classes for these semesters will begin on January 1, 2027. Students will have a mid-semester break from March 21 to March 28, with classes resuming on March 29.The preparation permit and practical exams will start on April 30, while the theoretical exams are scheduled from May 13, 2027.The academic session will end with the Summer Vacation from June 3 to July 20, 2027.It has a uniform semester schedule

CSAS UG and PG admissions are ongoing
The release of the academic calendar comes as the university continues the admissions process for the 2026-27 academic session.The CSAS UG registration portal, which opened on June 26, is currently accepting applications for undergraduate admissions.Meanwhile, the postgraduate admission process is also ongoing. Candidates who could not register earlier for CSAS PG 2026 can still participate in the counseling process through the Mid-Entry option by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,000. The university has set July 4, 2026, as the last date to apply under the Mid-Entry window.
