The Staff Selection Commission has reopened the application window for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2026 Examination after receiving several requests from candidates who were unable to complete their registrations within the original deadline.The SSC had released the notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 on May 21, 2026, and kept the online application process open till June 22, 2026. According to the Commission, more than 28 lakh candidates have successfully submitted their applications during this period, highlighting the immense popularity of one of the largest recruitment exams of India.Despite the high number of registrations, the Commission said it received several representations from applicants, citing various difficulties that prevented them from completing their applications before the deadline. Taking these concerns, SSC has decided to provide an additional opportunity to the eligible candidates.
The application window is open until June 25
According to the latest announcement, the online application portal has been reopened for two days. Applicants can now submit their applications from June 23, 2026, 11:00 p.m., until June 25, 2026, 11:00 p.m.The Commission also reviewed the related timelines related to the examination process. Since the application deadline has been extended, the new closing date of 25 June 2026 will now be considered the crucial date for determining the eligibility criteria where applicable in the examination notice.
The tax payment deadline extended
Candidates who submit their applications during the extended period can make the payment of the fee online until June 26, 2026, at 11:00 PM.The SSC has advised the candidates to complete the registration and fee payment process well before the deadline to avoid last minute technical issues or heavy traffic on the portal.
Revised correction window dates
The extension also resulted in changes to the application patch schedule. The “Application Form Correction Window” will now remain open from July 1 to July 3, 2026, until 11:00 PM.This facility will enable applicants to review and correct the details allowed in their submitted application forms before the examination process moves to the next stage.
No other changes in the exam notice
In addition to the revised application dates, the Commission has clarified that all other terms and conditions mentioned in the original notification of the 2026 Graduate School Examination issued on May 21 will remain unchanged.The SSC CGL exam is one of the most sought after recruitment tests in the country, attracting lakhs of graduates every year for vacancies in various departments and ministries of the Central Government.
