The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) will close the registration process for Excise Constable Recruitment 2026 today, June 24. Candidates who have not yet applied for the recruitment drive can complete their application process through the official website, upsssc.gov.in.The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 722 posts of Excise Constable under the Office of the Commissioner of Excise, Uttar Pradesh, Prayagraj. Candidates applying for the seats must have appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 and possess a valid PET score card.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates should have passed Intermediate (Class 12) or equivalent examination from Uttar Pradesh Board or any other recognized board.According to the notification, the age of candidates should be between 18 to 40 years as on 1st July 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates and eligible state government employees as per government rules.Candidates who have an NCC B Certificate and those who have completed two years of service in the Territorial Army will be given preference during the recruitment process.

A total of 722 vacancies were advertised. The distribution of seats by category is as follows:
- General: 292 seats
- Scheduled Castes (SC): 142 seats
- Scheduled Tribe (ST): 12 seats
- Other Backward Class (OBC): 215 seats
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 61 seats
Selection process
The selection process will be carried out in several stages. Candidates will first be shortlisted on the basis of their PET-2025 scores. Shortlisted candidates will then have to appear for the Main Written Examination.Those who qualify the written test will be called for the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) before the final selection.
