According to Aksa, Pant tried to call him several times to tell him the news, but the DC captain initially did not answer the call as he was with his children.When Axar finally called back, an excited Pant immediately confirmed the move and said, “Confirm ho gaya bhai, main wapas aa raha hoon” (Confirmed, bro, I’m back). Aksa then revealed that he wanted to share an idea with Pant but was unable to say it over the phone. However, after going through a hybrid season and changing team strategies, both teams have agreed to a straightforward player swap ahead of the IPL 2027 season. During his first spell with Delhi Capitals from 2016 to 2024, Pant accumulated 3,284 runs in nine seasons, making him the franchise’s all-time leading run-scorer and one of its most popular players. In his two years with Lucknow Supergiants, Pant scored 581 runs in his two seasons (2025-2026). As captain, Rishabh Pant led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to 10 wins and 18 losses in 28 games, with a winning rate of 35.71%.
