New Delhi: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s dream became a reality on Saturday as the 15-year-old made his India debut ahead of the second T20I against England at Manchester’s Old Trafford.The left-handed opener created history by becoming India’s youngest-ever international cricketer at 15 years and 99 days, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s 36-year-old record.

After making his debut for the Indian national team, an excited Suryavansh said that playing for India has always been his biggest dream.“Kaafi lag raha hai. Dream tha ye. Kisi ke liye India khelna hi sabse badi baat hoti hai. Koi bhi cricket khelna start karta hai international cricket khelne ke aur apne national ko representative karne ke liye, to kaafi proud moment hai,” Sooryavanshi said in a video released by BCCI.
“Sabse Pehle Maine apne papa ko bataya”
The Bihar youngster revealed that his father was the first person he informed about his India debut.“Sabse pehle maine apne father ko jaakar room mein bataya. Unko jaakar bola. Who will stay here with me? don’t worry. Aur kisi se Maine baat nahi ki. Aur jo bhi is just Bhinder sir and mom. Matlab just jo saath rehte hain sab ko bataya. Record-breaking debut
The teenager from Bihar earned his first call-up to the Indian national team after a stellar performance in the 2026 IPL season and was selected for the T20I squad for the Ireland and England tours as well as the Asian Games.Suryavanshi made his debut in Manchester and became India’s youngest international cricketer, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record. Overall, he is the second youngest player from a full member nation to make his debut in international cricket, after Pakistan’s Hasan Raza.Sooryavanshi launched the attack and scored 14 points from 10 balls, including 2 sixes.He declared victory by hitting Jofra Archer’s six over the wicketkeeper’s head and then hit another top-scorer off Josh Tongue.His innings ended in the fifth over when he rushed to Will Jacks’ track but was hit by the flight of the ball.
