Prithviraj Sukumaran Will play the main antagonist in the upcoming SS Rajamouli starrer Varanasi Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra. As the film is currently in production, the Malayalam actor shared an interesting experience on the sets.Varanasi, a global adventure thriller from the visionary director of RRR, is being shot in various locations around the world. Recently, Prithviraj Sukumaran revealed that for one particular scene with Mahesh Babu, the shooting took almost a day as Rajamouli was not satisfied with the result.
One shot was shot nearly 100 times
Talking about the scene, Prithviraj Sukumaran said, “It’s not an exaggeration. For one particular sequence in the film, Mahesh Babu and I started shooting in the morning. I’m not sure if it was taken in 94 or 97. We started working in the morning and came over during lunch break because he didn’t get the shot right. Just when we thought we were about to take our second bite of food, he called us back to the set. We started again and continued until 6.30pm or 7pm.“Even after so many takes, Rajamouli was still not happy with the shot. He asked both actors to return the next day and shoot the same scene again.Talking further about the Baahubali director, Prithviraj Sukumaran called him the “hardest working director” he has ever worked with. Filmmakers always arrive at filming locations earlier than others, he said.
Prithviraj Sukumaran reveals when SS Rajamouli will arrive early
He mentioned that by the time the actors arrived at the set at 7 a.m., Rajamouli had already completed several rehearsals with his assistants. He also completes the camera setup and planning before the actors come to the set.SS Rajamouli also told Prithviraj Sukumaran that he had been there since the actor asked him at 5.15 am. When the actor who played Kumba in the film also asked to come earlier, the director just asked him to report at the scheduled time. He also revealed that Rajamouli is usually the last one to leave the set, and even his lunch break is only about 20 minutes.
