Pankaj Tripathi His elder brother Vijendra Nath Tiwari rushed to Patna after he was allegedly attacked with an ax in Bihar’s Gopalganj district over a land dispute.The incident reportedly took place in Belsand village under Madhopur police station area on Sunday night. According to police, Tiwari sustained multiple injuries after being attacked with a sharp weapon and was initially admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital and then to Patna for specialized treatment.Sources close to the family revealed that Pankaj has arrived in Patna to be with his brother. The Hindustan Times quoted a person close to Pankaj’s family as saying: “Pankaj has arrived in Patna to visit his brother. Given the current situation, he is currently unable to speak.” He added that although Vijayendranath suffered multiple injuries, his condition is stable and his life is not in danger.

Police said the attack stemmed from a long-standing land dispute, the Press Trust of India reported. Additional DG Law and Order Sudhanshu Kumar said Vijendra Nath Tiwari was attacked with an ax over a property-related conflict in the village.Investigators arrested a neighbor, Rajesh Shah, in connection with the case. The Gopalganj police chief’s office confirmed that a forensic team visited the crime scene and found the alleged weapons as well as blood-stained clothes believed to belong to the accused.

Speaking about the investigation, Sadar SDPO-2 Rajesh Kumar said Tiwari was filling soil near his house when he was allegedly attacked from behind.“The previous dispute was over land. Vijendra Nath Tiwari was filling soil near his house when the accused attacked him from behind with an ax and sharp weapons. The victim is undergoing treatment in Patna. The matter is being investigated and all those involved in the attack, including the main accused, will be jailed soon,” IANS quoted him as saying.Authorities have launched raids to arrest other defendants who are reportedly absconding. The police assured that stern action will be taken against those responsible as the investigation continues.
