The online counseling process started on July 3 and will be available till July 5, 2026 (midnight). This round gives another chance to the eligible candidates to get admission in the vacancies left after the second round. This round of mop-up has been launched to fill up the vacancies arising out of non-joining of candidates, resignations, surrender of seats and unavailability of seats after the end of the second round of counseling for government and private engineering colleges in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The mop-up round aims to fill engineering vacancies

According to the notification issued by JKBOPEE, the latest round of counseling was launched after colleges reported a lack of admissions through the Board’s online joining portal. The available places include those that have become vacant following the decisions of applicants not to join the awarded institutes or to withdraw from the admission process. The Board has advised eligible candidates to participate in the stipulated schedule as no application will be accepted after the end of the counseling window.

Who can participate in JKCET 3 rounds of counselling?

JKBOPEE has outlined the categories of candidates eligible to participate in the third round of counselling. Candidates who have not been allocated a place during the first or second round can participate in the mop-up process. Those who have secured a seat in the previous rounds and have successfully joined their allotted institute are also eligible to participate in the upgrade, subject to the counseling rules and availability of seats.Candidates who have been allotted a seat during the first round but have not joined, as well as those who have resigned from the allotted institute before the last date prescribed to join for the first round, are also allowed to participate in the third round for all available courses and institutions.

Restrictions on second round non-joiners

The Council has, however, imposed certain restrictions on candidates who have not accepted their second round assignments.Candidates who have been allotted a seat during the second round but have not joined the allotted institution will not be allowed to opt for the same course in the same institution during the third round.
