Esha Deol has admitted that love and romance are things that are “missing right now” in her life while revealing that her belief in relationships remains firmly rooted in the example set by her parents, veteran stars Hema Malini and Dharmendra. In an interview with Curly Tales, Esha described herself as a hopeless romantic, despite experiencing heartbreak and personal setbacks.“I think love and romance are the most important things in a person’s life, and I’m lacking that right now. I love romance. I’m a total rom-com person. I love love songs and I love love stories,” she said. When asked if her views on love have changed over the years, especially after her breakup and the end of her marriage to Bharat Tahtani, Esha said no.“No, these things don’t change. Breakups happen. I’ve had boyfriends in the past who broke up with me. These things happen, but it doesn’t diminish my ultimate thoughts on love,” she said.
“We see unconditional love from a young age”
The actress revealed that watching her parents’ relationship growing up shaped her expectations of love and companionship.“We have seen the unconditional love between Hemaji and Dharmendraji since childhood,” Aisha shared.Looking back on their relationship, she added, “There was dignity in it. There was respect, there was unconditional love. We both loved Dharmendra ji so much. I don’t know how I kept my composure today. I mean, I love him, he’s in my heart.” Ayesha also spoke fondly of the values Dharmendra instilled in her, saying one of the most important lessons he taught her was to never compromise on dignity and self-respect.“The best advice he gave me was to always have dignity and self-respect. Those were two words we used a lot,” she said, adding, “About the relationship between sisters, he always said there should be love and affection between you. Those words came at the right time and hit you hard.”
