He described Daman as a family-centric thriller with strong entertainment elements.He also refuted early speculations that the film would be based on the concept of “Rs 5 Doctor”, India Today reported. Instead, he said the story revolves around a larger-than-life character from the commercial film scene.

Ashwas further explained that Daman will combine popular storytelling with investigative drama elements. He compared the tone of the film to two famous Tamil films.The film is expected to feature a hero-driven storyline mixed with thriller sequences.The director said that Rajinikanth’s character was not based on the much-discussed real-life inspiration of “Rupee 5 Doctor”.
