BSUSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC) has released the notification for the recruitment of 3,687 Assistant Professor (Contract Faculty) posts. Online application process has started through HED Bihar Samarth portal and will remain open till 15th July 2026. Applicants can submit their applications without paying any application fee.The recruitment drive aims to fill contract faculty positions in 10 state universities and 211 Rajkiya Degree universities recently established in Bihar. Applications are accepted through HED Bihar Samarth portal only. The recruitment covers six subjects in the arts and humanities stream.Vacancies by subject announcedBSUSC has notified vacancies in English, History, Hindi, Economics, Political Science and Sociology. English has the highest number of vacancies with 674 seats, followed by History with 662 seats and Hindi with 625 seats. Economics has 597 vacancies, while Political Science has 596 seats. Sociology has 533 vacancies, bringing the total number of advertised positions to 3,687. Eligibility requirements for applicantsCandidates must have a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 55 percent. The minimum qualifying marks are relaxed to 50 percent for SC, ST, BC, EBC and PwD candidates belonging to Bihar.Candidates should also have qualified UGC NET, CSIR NET or Bihar SET. Candidates who have been awarded a PhD under the UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 are exempted from the NET requirement.
Minimum age for candidates is 21 years while upper age limit is 43 years as on 1st August 2026. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per recruitment rules.Selection process and recruitment scheduleThe selection process will consist of an academic assessment and an interview-cum-demonstration. Academic qualifications carry 88 marks, while the interview-cum-demonstration will count for the remaining 12 marks.As per the recruitment schedule, the interviews will be conducted from 20th July 2026 to 27th July 2026. The merit list is expected to be released on 29th July 2026. The final assignment of the university and the union of the selected candidates are expected for August 7, 2026, completing the recruitment process in the notified schedule.Official notification and online application facility is available through HED Bihar Samarth portal for eligible candidates seeking appointment as contractual Assistant Professors in higher educational institutions of Bihar.
