Amanda Batula, who had been a series regular on the reality TV series since its premiere in 2017, announced her departure from the show. The “Bravo” character will not be returning when production begins on Season 11, marking the end of her decade-long association with the show.According to E!, Batula’s exit caps a challenging year filled with personal turmoil and cast disagreements. She and Kyle Cooke, who married in 2021, confirmed their separation in January after four years of marriage. Then, on March 31, Batula revealed in a joint Instagram post that she had begun dating her co-star West Wilson, a relationship that quickly earned her the nickname “#Scamanda” from fans and quickly undermined the actors’ established friendship.

Wilson joined Summer House in 2024, preceded Batula’s exit from the series. His own departure was confirmed on June 15, and he spoke about the decision during an appearance on the Radio Boys podcast on June 24. “I want to speak to this personally,” Wilson said of his exit announcement. “But it’s true. But in their defense, I don’t think it’s going to be a fun summer,” he added, acknowledging the tension in production.
The conflict reached its most explicit level during the show’s reunion special, when Ciara Miller Batula’s former best friend, who dated Wilson before their contentious separation in 2023, directly confronted the couple. Miller, who is currently co-hosting Love Island USA Aftersun in Fiji, expressed her frustration with the situation on the June 9 episode.“I can’t imagine sitting here angry that you fucked my ex-husband,” Miller told Batula. “He wanted to embarrass me. He wanted to get the last word out. I hope this works because he’s with you to embarrass me,” she continued, laying out her thoughts on Wilson’s motivations for entering into the relationship.
West Wilson defends relationship
Wilson responded to Miller’s criticism during the show’s June 16 Aftermath special, defending his connection to Batula as genuine and not vindictive. Wilson spoke directly to Cook, describing the basis of their relationship. “I can tell you that my relationship with Amanda was the first time I’d ever come out of a solid three-year friendship and there was nothing performative about it. There was nothing trying to prove anything,” he said.Wilson detailed his vision for their future together, signaling serious long-term intentions. “I regret a lot of things, but the one thing I can’t regret is my feelings for Amanda and my care for her. I can’t apologize for that because it happened,” he said, emphasizing that the connection transcended the drama surrounding its reveal.
