New Delhi: Kings XI Punjab cricketer Shashank Singh His father, retired special commissioner of police Shailesh Singh, was booked by the Bhopal Latibad police after a home cook accused him of beating, abusing and forcibly taking away his mobile phone.According to a report by IANS, the First Information Report (FIR) named Shashank Singh, his father Shailesh Singh and their driver, known as Mishra, as accused. A case has been registered under Sections 296(B), 115(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and police have launched an investigation into the allegations. The complainant, Vipendra Singh Tomar, a resident of Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district, told the police that he went to the Nirbad Singh family’s bungalow on June 25 and started working as a cook. He claimed that he was paid a monthly salary of Rs 15,000 along with food and accommodation.“I agreed to work there and stay at the residence after being guaranteed wages, food and accommodation,” Tomar said in the complaint.Tomar claims he was later told his work was flawed and his phone was taken away.The incident escalated on June 28 when he asked for the phone to be returned, the complaint states.“After preparing breakfast, I asked Shailesh Singh to return my phone but he refused. I felt upset about this and went back to my room,” Tomar claimed.He further alleged that Shailesh Singh, Shashank Singh and their driver entered his room, abused and assaulted him.“They abused me and started attacking me with their hands and fists. After beating me, they forced me to leave the house,” Tomar said in his statement to the police.The complainant also claimed that Rs 1,000 was transferred from his mobile phone, which the accused claimed was used to deduct food and accommodation expenses.
