The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) start online registration process for Technician 2026 recruitment from 30 June 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for 6,565 vacancies for Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III posts through official RRB application portal.The recruitment was announced through the Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) No. 02/2026 under the Ministry of Railways. Candidates can submit their application forms till July 29, 2026.
Vacancy details
As per the official notification, a total of 6,565 posts will be filled through this recruitment drive. Out of these:
- 323 vacancies are for Technician Grade I Signal.
- 6,242 vacancies are for Technician Grade III.
Candidates applying for a Grade I Signal Technician should have a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree or a Diploma in the relevant field. For Technician Grade III posts, candidates must have passed Class 10 with an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the required trade.
Age limit
The age limit will be calculated as on 1st July 2026.
- Grade I technician signal: 18 to 33 years
- Technician Grade III: 18 to 30 years
Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates as per government rules.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to General, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories have to pay an application fee of Rs 500.For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories, the application fee is Rs 250.The fee can be paid only through the online application portal.
Selection process
The selection process includes:
- Computer Based Testing (CBT)
- Document verification
- Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify at each stage will be considered for final selection as per Railway Recruitment Board norms.

Applicants can follow these steps to submit their application:
- Visit the official RRB application portal.
- Register using the required details.
- Fill the online application form carefully.
- Enter your Aadhaar details and make sure they match your Class 10 records.
- Upload the required documents and photographs.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Submit the application form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
Candidates can apply through only one Railway Recruitment Board for each Pay Level. Only one application per Pay Level will be accepted, and submitting multiple applications for the same Pay Level may result in rejection.Candidates are also advised to verify their Aadhaar details before submitting the application to avoid any mismatch during the recruitment process.The schedule of the computer based test will be announced later by the Railway Recruitment Boards through the official website.
