Ahead of the launch, Tata has released several teasers to reveal more about the SUV’s design, cabin, technology and performance.
Tata Sierra EV : All we know so far
One of the biggest details comes from a recent teaser, which shows the Sierra EV in action. The digital instrument cluster shows 424 km remaining with the battery at 80 percent. Although Tata Motors has not announced the official figures, the display shows that the SUV can offer a range of over 500 km for the full price. The latest teaser has also revealed the cabin in detail. The Sierra EV has a modern dashboard design and a dual-spoke steering wheel with the Tata EV logo. Another interesting addition is the dedicated Boost mode, which can be activated using a physical button in the center of the console. The display is expected to temporarily unlock power and torque. The SUV will also come with several Terrain models. In one of the videos filmed on the sand dunes of Tal Moreeb in Abu Dhabi, the driver shows the Sand Drive in action, showing that the Sierra EV is designed to handle a variety of road conditions.Tata Motors has already confirmed that the Sierra EV will be offered with an all-wheel drive option. Top models are expected to feature the company’s Quad Wheel Drive dual-motor system, first introduced on the Harrier EV, while lower trims could use a single electric motor to drive one axle.
Tata Sierra EV. Cabin and features:
The Sierra EV is expected to be loaded with premium features. The lower-end variants may feature a dual-screen display, while the higher-end models may feature a triple-screen display similar to the recently unveiled ICE Sierra. Other expected equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual climate control, wireless phone ordering, electric tailgate, 360-degree camera, connected car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos support.

Tata Sierra EV. A train station
The Sierra EV is expected to be offered with a number of different battery sizes, including 55 kWh and 65 kWh units, while the top-of-the-range models may also borrow the larger 75 kWh battery from the Harrier EV. Fast charging is also expected to be part of the package, allowing the battery to be topped up in a very short time using DC fast chargers.Tata Motors is also expected to extend its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program to the Sierra EV, giving customers the option to purchase the vehicle separately from the battery through an ownership model, thereby lowering the initial purchase price.Once launched, it will compete with rivals such as Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara in the fast-growing electric SUV segment in India.
