Cricket Ireland has confirmed that the two T20 matches against India will start at 1:30pm local time (6:00pm IST), one hour earlier than the usual start time for India’s evening T20 internationals. The decision was taken to reduce scheduling conflicts with India’s crucial Women’s T20 World Cup match against Australia on June 28.

Women’s World Cup schedule affects schedule decisions

The Indian women’s team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will take on Australia in a high-stakes Women’s T20 World Cup match at Lord’s on Sunday. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm IST, which would fully overlap with the second men’s T20I match between India and Ireland if the traditional start time is retained. To address this issue, Cricket Ireland moved the two T20I matches forward by an hour to ensure fans were able to watch the majority of both matches.

Broadcaster agrees to change time

Organizers of the Cricket Ireland matches scheduled for Friday (June 26) and Sunday (June 28) are understood to have discussed the matter with Indian media partner Sony Sports, Cricbuzz reported. Ideally, the broadcaster would have wanted the India T20Is to start at 7 pm IST, but Sony Sports is believed to have agreed to a revised time to reduce the clash, even if only partially.
