Norton Motorcycles has rolled out the first Atlas motorcycle from TVS Motor Company’s manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The development comes ahead of the brand’s international exhibition scheduled for next month, and customer deliveries are expected to begin at the end of the third quarter of this year. The event reflects the growing partnership between Norton and its parent company TVS Motor, combining British technology with Indian technology and manufacturing capabilities.Atlas is one of the new features in the latest Norton. The motorcycle marks the British brand’s return to the touring segment, where the Atlas GT caters to sport touring customers. Designed and manufactured at Norton’s headquarters in Solihull, UK, the Atlas is powered by a 585cc liquid-cooled twin engine with a 270 degree stroke. The engine is mounted in a light steel trellis. The motorcycle comes with a Bosch-axis IMU, slim aids, five-way transmission, KYB adjustable suspension, cornering control, 8-inch TFT instrument display and smartphone connectivity via the Norton Rider app. While the Atlas uses a 19-inch front wheel to better accommodate the ride, the Atlas GT gets 17-inch wheels on both sides for more stability on the road. The production of Atlas models at the Hosur facility follows Norton’s decision to utilize the manufacturing capabilities of TVS Motor. With the Solihull-based company focused on building the Manx R superbike up and running, Hosur has been chosen as the production site for the Atlas and Atlas GT models.Looking ahead, Norton plans to launch Atlas in India later this year. The motorcycle is also expected to be sold through TVS’s upcoming online platform, called TVS Paddock, which is expected to go live during Q2 FY27. The new sales model aims to provide exceptional ownership and customer service to luxury motorcycle buyers.
