Skoda has taken the wraps off its new electric SUV, the Peak. Sitting at the top of the brand’s EV line-up, the three-row electric SUV is set to compete with family electric models such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Volvo EX90 in the global market.
Skoda Peak : Design and dimensions
Built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ electric platform, the Peaq is 4,874 mm long, 1,867 mm wide and 1,664 mm tall, while its wheelbase is 2,965 mm. It offers a 299-litre boot with all seats in place. Folding the third row increases the load to 935 litres, while the 37-litre front trunk increases storage space. The Peak follows the latest Skoda Modern Solid design concept. At the front, the SUV has a black “Tech Deck” panel in place of the traditional grille, joined by T-matrix LED headlights and a signature all-round lighting. Functional air vents have also been integrated into the bumper to help cool the car’s electronics. Moving to the rear, the SUV gets T-shaped LED headlights, a dual-tone bumper, a roof-mounted spoiler and a shark-fin antenna. Door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheels are also part of the package.

Inside, the Peak features a 13.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system alongside a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a multi-heated steering wheel carrying Skoda audio. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, dual wireless chargers, USB charging ports in all three rows and a 16-speaker Sonos audio system. Skoda has also introduced an important digital feature for the first time, allowing owners to lock and unlock the car using a smartphone or smartwatch. The top-of-the-line model can also be equipped with a head-up display, massage front seats with adjustable power headrests and fold-down tables in the rear.
Skoda Peak. A train station
Skoda will offer the Peak in three variants. The entry-level Peaq 60 uses a 63 kWh battery paired with a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 204 hp. This model offers a range of over 459 km and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph / 8.6 seconds. The mid-range Peaq 90 comes with a larger 91 kWh battery and a more powerful rear-mounted motor that produces 286 hp. It offers a maximum range of 647 km and completes the 0-100 kmph sprint in 7.1 seconds. At the top of the range is the Peaq 90x, which combines a 91 kWh battery with dual-motor-wheel-drive. The system produces 299 hp, helping the SUV accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. It has a range of 613 kilometers. All models support fast charging, while the Peaq can accept DC speeds of up to 199 kW.
