The film got off to a good start in its opening weekend, but saw a sharp decline at the box office on Monday, raking in just around Rs 635 crore in net revenue in India on its fourth day.After a strong opening weekend, the romantic drama suffered an expected decline during the weekdays. On Monday, the film opened 9,785 times and box office revenue fell 64.2%.When the film was released in theaters, it grossed an impressive 135 million rupees at the box office on the first day. The positive response from the audience helped the film grow at the box office over the weekend, with the film collecting an estimated Rs 1,625 crore on Saturday and Rs 1,775 crore on Sunday. With the increase on Monday, Cocktail 2 has now earned an estimated net revenue of Rs 53.85 crore in India. Meanwhile, the film’s total box office collection in India currently stands at Rs 64.56 million.The film also continues to maintain a steady grip on international markets. On Day 4, the company’s overseas revenue was estimated to have increased by Rs 150 million, taking its total overseas revenue to Rs 207.5 million. As a result, the film’s global box office collection is estimated to have climbed to Rs 85.31 crore.Directed by Homi Adajania, “Cocktail 2” is a sequel to the 2012 hit “Cocktail” and stars new actors such as Shahid, Kriti and Rashmika in the lead, taking over from Deepika Padukone, Diana Penty and Saif Ali Khan.The film’s early box office performance also helped it rank among Shahid Kapoor’s highest-grossing films. The film currently has a net box office collection of Rs 53.85 million in India and has climbed to seventh place on the list of highest-paid films for actors. It is now set to become a lifetime addition to Haider (2014), which has netted around Rs 55.93 crore in India.If the film continues to maintain momentum in the coming days, it could surpass the Rs 848.5-crore net box office collection of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s previous Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya in India. Now,’Padmavat‘and’Kabir Singh” remains the actor’s highest-grossing film.
