Ahead of its theatrical release on June 26, Ahmed Khan’s comedy entertainer Welcome to the Jungle has been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, the film was given the go-ahead after a series of cuts and revisions. The committee reportedly recommended 18 changes, ranging from dialogue changes to removing certain visuals and references.The latest film in the popular Welcome series has now been certified with a UA 16+ rating and has an estimated running time of 2 hours and 44 minutes.

According to the Hindustan Times, the certification for “Welcome to the Jungle” was issued on June 20 after multiple revisions. The official synopsis describes the film as a chaotic comedy that revolves around a billionaire who devises an unusual plan to fake financial losses by making a movie designed to fail. To execute his plan, he assembles an unlikely team, including a fading superstar and an incompetent director, setting the stage for a series of unfortunate events.Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film is the third entry in the Welcome series and combines slapstick humor, confusion and larger-than-life characters. The project is produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, Rakesh Dang and Vedant Vikaas Baali.
Dialogue modified before publishing
Several lines in the film were reportedly altered before it was certified. One of the dialogues “Kala paya hua hai…koayla hai” was replaced by “Saadah paya hua…namoona hua hai”. Another line “Yaas karo kurbani muh me bhar lo paani” was modified to “suno sunata hoon kahani, jo shaheed honey jaa raha tha, uske muh mien bharlo paan”.Other changes include changes to phrases like “Desh ki tatti” and “Ejjat le lo”. Some text and references have also been modified or removed entirely. According to certification details, the word “screwed” was removed from the subtitles, while “Azarudden” was replaced with “Allaudin.”The committee also reportedly changed “andha” to “dheela”, while references to “Gorkha Regiment” were replaced with the more generic question “Tum Army se ho?” Likewise, in relevant scenes, the word “general” was replaced with “officer” or “sir”.
Kashmir reference and visual editing
More notable changes include the removal of references such as “Na Diya” and “Panni of Kashmir”. The CBFC has also directed changes to some of the visuals it classifies as “sexy”.Scenes that featured bikini shots, close-ups of women’s buttocks and certain dance moves were either trimmed or deleted, according to the report’s list of cuts. Some sequences involve Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez According to reports, some gestures deemed inappropriate were replaced with alternative reaction shots starring Vindu Dara Singh. The cumulative duration of these visual deficits is said to be approximately 10 seconds.
