NEW DELHI: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has announced the selection results for more than 460 vacant faculty posts in more than 50 disciplines. The appointments cover positions ranging from Assistant Professor to Professor at AIIMS New Delhi and at the AIIMS-Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS) campus at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi.The recruitment exercise was conducted for a period of six months and incorporated digital blocking technology to safeguard confidentiality and maintain transparency throughout the selection process. According to AIIMS, the technology-driven system enabled the preparation of the final merit list with minimal manual involvement while supporting timely declaration of results.The recruitment covered hundreds of faculty vacanciesThe recruitment process included 265 faculty posts at AIIMS New Delhi and 199 posts at the AIIMS-CAPFIMS campus. More than 3,200 candidates applied for these positions covering more than 50 academic and clinical disciplines.Vacancies include appointments at various academic levels, starting with Assistant Professors and extending to Professors. The exercise is among the largest recruitment efforts of teachers made by the institution in recent years, covering a wide range of specializations in teaching and health.Blockchain technology used during the selection processAIIMS stated that blockchain digital technology has been integrated into the recruitment process to ensure confidentiality and transparency. As part of the system, candidates’ marks have been digitally locked with a one-time password to protect the integrity of the assessment records.The institution said that the final merit list was generated by the software using the marks secured with predefined algorithms. No human intervention has been involved in the preparation of the merit list, except in cases where ties have to be resolved. The automated process also facilitated faster declaration of selection results.Faculty appointments are expected to strengthen institutional capacityAccording to AIIMS, the recruitment is expected to improve the availability of faculty in the participating institutions. The appointments will support academic departments at both AIIMS New Delhi and the AIIMS-CAPFIMS campus.The institute stated that the addition of new faculty members is expected to enhance patient care services, teaching activities and research in the institutions. With the end of the recruitment process and declaration of results, selected candidates will fill long-term vacancies in a wide range of disciplines, adding to the academic and clinical workforce on both campuses.
