After the release of ‘Satluj’ on OTT, Diljit Dosanjh paid tribute to activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

After more than three years of delay, Diljit Dosanjh‘Satluj’ has finally hit the OTT streaming platform. Following the release of the film, the famous singer and actor became emotional, reflecting on the obstacles they faced in getting the film approved and released. “Satluj” was originally titled “Punjab ’95” and tells the story of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

The actor-singer took to his Instagram account to talk about the release of ‘Satluj’ and paid tribute to activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Sharing a clip from the film itself, he wrote a touching caption, sharing, “After 4 years of struggle, SATLUJ #Panjab95 is finally released on @zee5 Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra Ji Nu Lakh Lakh Parnaam.”He further wrote, “Mai Aksar Team Nu Pushda Rehnda C Ke Eh Movie Kadey v Ni Augi? The story of “Satluj” is based on the real life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Apart from Dosanjh in the lead role, the film also stars Arjun Rampal, Suvinder Vicky, Jagjeet Sandhu and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan. The show tells the story of how Jaswant Singh Khalra became involved in investigating the plight of some 25,000 people who were marked missing during the insurgency period in Punjab.
