The supernatural horror series appears to be undergoing major changes in From season 4, but one of the most interesting storylines remains a mystery that can be explored in the series finale. The Golem Project in Season 4 was a mystery to Fatima, and it wasn’t developed enough to warrant being an important part of the final showdown, so it may not be a major factor in the finale.Jed and Tabitha eventually retrieve the bones of the sacrificed child with the help of the boy and others, and the boy in yellow and the boy in white are revealed to know each other, playing a strange game with the town in physical form. Despite these important plot developments, the Golem storyline received very little attention in the final episodes of the season, providing an opportunity for the final season to revisit and expand on this forgotten narrative thread.

Fatima’s Golem Construction and Transformation

Around the middle of Season 4, Fatima began carving puppets in her room at the Colonial House. She eventually confirms to Ellis that she is creating a golem, a creature from religious folklore that serves as a guardian or protector for the person who builds it. Fatima’s decision stems from the ongoing trauma she suffered from her pregnancy, which ultimately led to the rebirth of a character at the end of last season. She learned about the Golem from her priest father and decided that such a creation was logically appropriate given the dire situation of the town’s residents.

Does Fatima become the protector she is establishing?

Fatima spent a few episodes studying her puppets, then discovered in episode seven, “The Best Laid-Lays,” that she now has a psychic link with a supernatural being. Subsequent episodes reveal Fatima herself undergoing a transformation, with another character discovering that her pulse has dropped to dangerously low levels—so low that she should be clinically dead. This transformation culminated in the Season 4 finale “If a Tree Falls in the Forest.”…” When Fatima transforms completely into a creature to protect herself Ellis and her friends are thus able to escape the cave.

Unresolved subplots and their underlying purposes

The show usually introduces subplots with adequate payoffs, which makes the fact that The Golem of Fatima goes nowhere before the season finale somewhat disappointing. The subplot itself is still interesting purely because inanimate objects have come to life in the town before, specifically the monster doll found in a lake in an old settlement in the previous episode. The Golems could play a major role in the final season now that a major antagonist has stolen and disposed of all the amulets that were the townspeople’s only defense against the creatures that emerge at night. If the Golem of Fatima is somehow resurrected, it could provide the townspeople with an alternative defense or equalizer against these creatures, or it could become another terrifying monster they must face.

Another interpretation of the meaning of puppet

The golem’s subplot may not suggest the possibility of Fatima’s sculpture being resurrected, but rather serve as an outward metaphor for her own transformation. According to this interpretation, Fatima may have become the protector of the town for which she was built. Although Fatima transformed into a creature, she used her powers to prevent other creatures from hunting her friends. She also seemed to have greater control over her abilities in the finale, suggesting that the season may be moving toward her becoming a creature while maintaining her most important connections.

Fatima's fate may determine final battle

Whether as a protector or in a more dangerous role, Fatima’s transformation could be crucial to the town’s fate. Image source(X)

In a previous episode, Fatima mentioned the Prague Golem from Jewish folklore, which went berserk one night after its owner forgot to remove the letters that controlled it on the Sabbath. The reference to this ancient fable may be a story hint that she will be a protective force to those around her in the future.

Last chance

Now that Coming is back for its final season, Fatima’s fate is in question after she undergoes a strange transformation. The Golem subplot has the ideal opportunity to be explored in two ways, either the Golem being resurrected as a true protector or transforming into the form of Fatima herself. In either case, it would give the supernatural horror series a sweet and satisfying ending and maintain the storyline that’s been set up throughout the series.
