Director Dylan Meyer spoke with Entertainment Weekly about her film debut and production experience. She said: “Frankie and Molly are co-dependent fools who have spent the past decade living happily in a haze of marijuana smoke, co-signing each other’s bad choices and blocking out the increasingly insistent calls of adulthood.”The Wrong Girl has been in the works for a while Stewart Serve as one of the writers. The actress also recently made her directorial debut with the film “The Chronology of Water.”Discussing how the film came to fruition, Meyer added, “The Wrong Girl was born out of my relationship with my best friend and producing partner Maggie MacLean, without whom I couldn’t do anything.” She also added, “It’s a love letter to willfully chaotic women and the platonic partnership that sustains them. The Wrong Girl may feature giant squids, Danish killers, talking cats, and supernatural abilities, but the emotional story and stakes are pure memoir.”Stewart also opened up about the projects and how she hopes people enjoy the quirky comedy. In a 2023 interview with Interview magazine, the actress first teased the project, saying, “Dylan and I are writing a movie. It’s a pot-girl comedy, and it’s really silly. The story revolves around two aimless young women who become addicted to drugs and stumble upon an experimental drug. However, after eating it, the two of them developed telepathic abilities with each other and their cat.
