Kapu made the most of the opportunities and remained unbeaten on 81 off 45 balls with seven fours and four sixes to lead South Africa to victory.Harmanpreet, who became the first male and female cricketer to play 200 T20 internationals, told the broadcaster after the match: “We got a few chances during this period but did not take them,” news agency PTI reported.India have two group matches left, against Bangladesh and Australia, and Harmanpreet said the team needs to stay positive despite the setbacks.“We have two games and it’s time to stay positive. Shree Charani and Shafali (Verma) are bowling well but the fielders are not backing them. We must seize opportunities at this level. We are not lucky enough for this. “The India skipper said the team will revisit its plans before the remaining matches. India are second in Group A behind Australia, who have won all three matches. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals.“We have two games and now is the time to think about it. We will sit down and rethink what to do and then we will see the changes that need to be made,” Harmanpreet said.She also pointed to Kapp’s innings as a turning point in the game.“She (Kapp) took the game away from us. She gave us two chances, those were clutch moments, and it cost us the game.”Harmanpreet said lessons can be learned from defeats and stressed the importance of staying positive ahead of the upcoming matches.“(There was) a lot of stuff, a lot of positive moments, and a lot of moments where I had to stay strong. Now is the time to stay positive and think about what to do in the upcoming games. Hopefully we can perform better in the next games. ” said the Indian captain.South Africa captain Laura Walwat praised Kapp’s game and called it one of the best she had ever seen.“We had a lot of pressure on the bench. I thought winning from the position we were in was absolutely unbelievable and probably one of the best hits I’ve ever seen with that much pressure,” Walvater said.She added that beating the Indian team, which defeated South Africa in the 2025 ODI World Cup final, made the result even more special.“…Playing against the team we lost to in the (2025 ODI World Cup) final was also very special. She is probably the greatest big-match player I have ever seen. I’m really happy to have her in my team,” she added.
